Those who want to escape the bronzed bodies can explore the hidden coves towards Cape Greko, take a stroll down to the pretty coastal path towards Ayia Napa, visit the traditional Cypriot villages of Liopetri and Paralimni, or drive up into the Trodos Mountains. The resort of Protaras is a quieter more relaxed alternative to its rowdier neighbour, Ayia Napa, just nine miles south.
